This October I am going to be taking part in Blogtober, organised by Mandi from Hex Mum. Each day I will be posting a post based on the prompts offered to me by Mandi. I have chosen to ‘stealth’ these posts so as not to clog up my homepage, but will be joining in with the linky each day.
Today’s post is all about me.
My name is Nicola and I’m a 31 year old Mum to Dexter James. I live in Liverpool with my husband and son in a two bedroomed flat on the Waterfront overlooking the river Mersey. We moved to Liverpool three years ago after living in Altrincham for a couple of years. Prior to that I lived in north Wales where I grew up.
My husband and I met seven years ago at Leeds Festival and have been inseparable ever since. When we met, I was living in Wales and he lived just outside of Liverpool. We had a long distance relationship until we got engaged in Australia in 2012 before moving in together. We got married in 2014 in my hometown alongside friends and family. Dexter came along two years later.
I’ve been blogging for just over a year now and it is my little hobby that keeps me sane when I am feeling stressed or need a little bit of ‘me time’. I have hugely enjoyed sharing our baby-led weaning journey including recipes I’ve tried on the blog and have met lots of women going through the same experiences as us. Through blogging, I have met two great friends who I was lucky enough to meet last weekend at BlogOn and who were both as funny and lovely in real life as they are online.
I work full time as a branch manager and I love my job. It can be challenging working full time when you are a Mum, but somehow we have made it work between us all. I have a wonderful childminder who looks after Dexter four days a week and does all sorts of weird and wonderful activities with him.
I enjoy nothing more than getting into a good box set and am particular fond of American dramas. I love Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, Code Black, Walking Dead, Game of Thrones and Mad Men to name a few. When I’m not watching TV, you can find me down the local beach hunting for shells for our next craft project or driving over to Wales with the radio blaring.
I live to travel and have been to some of the most spectacular places on the planet. I can’t wait to take Dexter to more places and hope to travel extensively with him in the future. My favourite place on the planet is Thailand. I love the relaxed beaches, the friendly bars and the delicious street food. I am also a big fan of Tunisia and adored Australia when we visited.
Thank you for joining me for the first day of Blogtober and hope to see you again tomorrow.
