This past weekend the three of us jumped in the car and headed down to Hereford where we had booked an Airbnb for the weekend.
A few weeks ago I wrote about all the different things we are looking for when we finally purchase our own home later in the year and one of those things is a garden.
Date nights are so important when you have children. Those first few months of having a newborn are so intense and the whole world simply revolves around your tiny bundle of joy and it sort of becomes the norm to forget you are a human being with wants and needs too. Let alone that your partner exists! As the newborn days fade away, you find that the person who you used to be starts creeping back, but it’s easy to carry on being stuck in a rut. After months of sitting in silence, barely daring to move, you forget that you can now get up, leave the room and at least make a little noise without worrying about waking the baby.
We’ve been big fans of the Little Tikes range since Dex was born and were so happy when we were gifted a 3 in 1 Little Tikes trike from my Mum last year. Dexter loved that thing and was in his element riding up and down Liverpool’s Waterfront looking out to sea and waving at all the people who passed by. Little Tikes recently got in touch after seeing a photo we posted of Dex on his trike on Instagram and asked if we would capture some shots of him in their new Perfect Fit 4 in 1 trike. How could I resist when they offered to send it out in teal, my absolute favourite colour and also the colour of his travel system!
Who doesn’t love a good old trip to Ikea? It’s a dangerous game though; you go with the intention of buying a couple of candles and a few bits for the kitchen and you walk out having spent hundreds of pounds! Our most recent visit happened a couple of weeks ago and although we had a list of things we wanted to buy, naturally we couldn’t help ourselves and also picked up a few extra bits we thought Dexter would love. Here’s what we got from our Ikea toddler haul.
If you have no plans for the upcoming Easter holidays, you may be struggling to think of ways to keep the kids entertained for a full two weeks. There are plenty of great days out to be had in the UK this Easter, that children of all ages will love. Here are my best days out to keep the kids busy this Easter break:
I absolutely adore old fashioned hotels and the Midland Hotel in Manchester is one hotel I’ve admired for a long time. I have spent five years of my life living in Manchester and while I was living in this vibrant, multicultural and very historic city, I couldn’t bring myself to stay there as it was right on my door step. Now that I live in Liverpool, a night over in Manchester is a bit of a luxury and when the opportunity cane up for my husband and I to spend an evening watching a band we have loved for years, my first thought turned to making a night of it and booking into The Midland.
