#MyHeartyLife | Week 7

#MyHeartyLife | Week 7

Welcome back to another week of  #MyHeartyLife. Each week I will be sharing what we have been up to and what cheerful moments we’ve experienced.

This week…

We’ve had the most wonderful week off work together just the three of us spending time with family, friends and cuddling in bed. We’ve had a few trips out, had meals out and I even managed a baby free afternoon with a friend that involved a few drinks! The weekend consisted of Dexter and I baking a lovely cake in the slow cooker and making fritters for his lunch. It’s just been divine to do absolutely nothing and spend so much quality time with my gorgeous little boy.

Grateful for…

We had a lovely meal out this week with my Mum and husband got her birthday in Frankie and Bennies. We used our lovely new Nuby travel booster so he could sit at the table with us and feared on delicious pasta and yummy pizza. Thanks Mum for the lovely treat (even though it was YOUR birthday!)

Success…

We’ve struggled quite a bit with nap times this week; Dexter usually naps in the morning for a couple of hours but this week he has just plain refused. After a few days of battling to get him to sleep (he’s just too ratty without a nap!) we finally figured out that he wants it in the afternoon. He’s been going down at 1.30pm and sleeping until gone 4pm. You’d think this would be a concern to getting him to sleep at night, but it’s not! He is still going to bed at 7pm without a peep!

Found beauty in…

We had a lovely day out to Formby beach on Monday. As we left the house I was instantly regretting it as the wind coming off the Mersey was bitter cold and I couldn’t see how we would have a good time. Once we arrived at the beach in Formby, the wind had died down and although it was a little cool, the bright sun and the endless beach made the trip worthwhile. We climbed a big sandy hill to access the beach and then trekked through sand dunes to get back to the car. Dexter walked the whole way and loved exploring the long marram grass.

How fab to have a week off together and coinciding with birthday meals too, brilliant. Glad the nap time adjustment is working now. We get so stuck in the routine of what works sometimes that we forget to listen to what our toddlers are saying which is usually ”chill Mum, I’ve got this!’.

Ahhh what a lovely week it’s been!! I love the shot of him with the camera. We’ve also had to move to an afternoon nap, in some ways it’s nicer, we have hectic mornings and then an afternoon of peace! x

I never knew you could use the slow cooker to bake cakes, this is all new information that I must investigate, haha. Sounds like you had a lovely week, it is so nice to spend those moments together as a family and escape from the norm once in a while. Lovely pics of your beach adventures.

Some gorgeous pictures and It sounds like an almost perfect week for you all together (minus lack of naps). How lovely is your mum? I love a good treat out haha
I remembered when Alice dropped her morning nap – it was painful, but we have a new routine and she usually just has the one after lunch/early afternoon! Good luck this week and I hope you find a new groove with a less cranky boy! x #MyheartyLife
