#MyHeartyLife | Week 9

#MyHeartyLife | Week 9

Welcome back to another week of  #MyHeartyLife. Each week I will be sharing what we have been up to and what cheerful moments we’ve experienced.

This week…

I cannot believe we are here in March. March! Last week I was hopeful that spring was around the corner but I can safely say the snowy weather we were battered with put a nail in that coffin. To be fair we didn’t get it half as bad here as the rest of the country but it was the first time I’ve ever seen snow here on the Waterfront in Liverpool. We have not been out much at all. We don’t have a garden so we were unable to enjoy the snow or build snowmen and instead we’ve stayed cooped up, warm and cosy, avoiding the icy pavements and roads. I managed to get to work everyday and Dex went to the childminders but even then he didn’t get out much there either!

Grateful for…

I am very grateful for the area that we live in. This little corner of the north west is really protected somehow from the bad weather and we never normally get hit too bad. Even on the worst days I was always able to get my car out and get to work which in turn helps the local community as so many people rely on me to be there with an open branch and ready to serve. As I type the rains have now come to Liverpool and the last of the snow is melting away. Maybe now I can start hoping for Spring to begin!

Success…

We’ve had another amazing weekend baking and this week we made Millionaire Shortbread. It’s something I’ve never been brave enough to make before, but my god, it’ll be something I make again and again for the rest of time. We also had lots of fun on Saturday painting using potatoes. Dexter still insists on eating the paint (even more so when I pull a disgusted face!) but it was fun mark making and trying different colours!

Found beauty in…

I’ve been burning my new candle every evening in our bedroom getting warm and cosy under the duvet and watching the candlelight flicker across the room. Is there anything more snuggly than candlelight, heating on, thick socks and hiding under the duvet? It almost makes the lack of Spring worthwhile! By the way, I have a giveaway on my blog right now to win said candle. Please check it out!

The Hearty Life

#MyHeartyLife is a weekly linky celebrating the goodness in life that week! The things you were grateful for, succeded at, and generally just beautiful. Whether big or small, share them in a post and realise the little beauties in life, despite the shortcomings, storms and failures!

I love a good candle anytime of the year, but especially during the winter.

    Such a happy little boy.

Oooo I love a bit of millionaires shortbread! I tried it once but it was dreadful!!
That first snow pic is darling – so gorgeous. I am glad you could enjoy some snow too and that it wasn’t too much of an impact on life. I am so excited that it is March and milder and hopefully some warmer days ahead x

Oh that snow pic with Dex is just so lush (the pride on his face with his bakers apron is pretty special too!). It looks like you had a lot more snow than we did. More on the way this weekend so they say – look forward to more ‘Dex in the snow’ pics if they’re right :o)
