Growing a Blog Without Being Techy

Share this post with your friends!

Blogging is a wonderful thing. There are countless blogs on the internet, and millions of new posts published every single day. There are bloggers all over the world, blogging in a massive range of different niches. There are food bloggers, mummy bloggers, lifestyle blogs and interior experts. There are tech blogs, travel blogs and bloggers talking about finance. Anything that you could think of, there’s probably a blog for it.

Starting a blog can be a fun hobby, but it can also become a full-time career. It’s a great way to meet new people, learn new skills and do something for yourself. For some, it’s just a way to have a voice in a crowded world.

But, if you’ve done some research on what goes into running a successful blog, you might be feeling a little overwhelmed. You might have thought it was merely a case of writing a post, publishing it and people reading. But, it’s rarely the case. There’s photography, digital marketing, SEO, coding, CSS, plugins, promotion, engagement. To grow a blog, it can seem like you need to understand a lot of things that you might have no clue about. But, that doesn’t mean that you can’t do it, and you certainly don’t need to be a tech expert, or fluent in HTML to get your blog seen.

Learn as You Go

Some people take their time to learn before starting a blog. But, this could take forever, especially if there are elements that you just don’t get. Often, the best way to learn as a blogger is by having a go. Get stuck in, play around with it and learn new skills when you need to. Practical hands-on experience is often the best way to improve.

Get Help

No one ever said that you had to do it all alone. The blogging community is fantastic, and there will always be someone that’s been stuck on the same thing, or happy to offer help and advice. Or, you can use a seo marketing agency if you are keen to turn your blog into a business.

Take Your Time

Nowadays, many people come into blogging hoping to earn a fortune, leave their job and find fame and fortune, because they have heard about other successful bloggers. But, this is rare, and usually, when it happens, it’s after years of hard work. Don’t rush. Take your time, and you’ll retain much more knowledge.

Try New Things

Blogging changes. The things that bloggers are doing to grow today won’t be the same next year. So, if you want your blog to grow, don’t be scared to try new things. If you don’t get something, and just can’t make it work for you, try something else.

Keep it Simple

Blogs don’t have to be flashy or filled with gimmicks. Your marketing campaign doesn’t have to be anything clever. Keep your blog designs and strategies simple. Focus on becoming an expert in your field, someone that speaks with authority, knows what they are talking about and can write well. Focus on your strengths while trying to improve your weaker areas, and you will do well.
