It’s safe to say that we’re all living in such strange times right now. When the year first began, you may have had some big dreams and ideas of how the next twelve months were going to go for you. Yet, fast forward a few weeks and that all very much changed. We all know what’s going on in the world and it can seem like a very scary thing to have to deal with. But, at the same time, it’s important to try and say as positive as you can. When you’re not really sure what’s going on in the world, it can be hard to focus. Yet, you know that your career is still there, and so it’s important to give it the attention it deserves. And if you’re going to do that, you may want to work on your motivation levels.
Although, when you’re anxious and stressed out, you may find that it’s not always that easy to stay motivated. Maybe you just want to forget everything that’s going on and all of the responsibilities that you have and just try to relax a bit? However, you know that’s not going to get anything done for you. Plus, when you’re working from home, you have to try extra hard to draw inspiration and stay focused. Let’s take a look at some of the things you can do to make that happen.
-
Get Into A Routine
To begin with, you’re going to want to make sure that you create a motivational routine. Now, this can sound a little crazy at first and maybe you hate the idea of it. But it really does work and it’s worth giving it a shot. When you can have a good routine that helps you to feel motivated first thing in the morning and that allows you to optimize your productivity, you’ll feel fantastic. It might take you a while to work out what’s going to be the best way to do it, but when you do, it’ll feel like you’ve found a secret.
-
Set Goals
Next, you’re always going to find that goals are inspiring. When you’re tired and lethargic, it’s not always that easy for you to want to work on new things. Yet, when you think about what you want to achieve and you decide to set yourself some goals, you can get excited. And getting excited about your career and doing what you love is exactly what you need right now.
-
Inspire Yourself
Now, you’re also going to want to make sure that you can inspire yourself in some way. It’s safe to say that it’s not always easy to want to get things done. But if you can incentivize yourself or read books that inspire you, you’ll feel more excited to get on with work.
-
Learn Something New
Sometimes, you just need to dive into something interesting and different. You won’t always want to do your everyday work, but maybe you’ll feel inspired to learn new things? Maybe it’s time for you to finally advance in your career, with somewhere like Regis College, or think about picking up new skills? This might help you to feel inspired and motivated to progress.
-
Help Others
Something a bit different that might make you feel good is helping others. Can you give advice that will help others? Do you have ideas that might make a difference to other people? This will also make you feel good and like you’re contributing something.
-
Make It Fun
Another idea could be for you to make sure that you’re having a lot more fun? If you’re stressed and bored and really struggling to focus, then it could be a great idea for you to think about making your work more enjoyable. Think about what you can do to be creative. Think outside the box. Just come up with ideas to help you love your work again.
-
Go Easy On Yourself
Then last but not least, you also have the idea of just taking it easy. If you want to feel motivated, then you just cannot force yourself to make things happen. You’re only going to burn out much quicker. Instead, you need to make sure that you’re relaxing a lot more. Go easy on yourself and when you feel like you’re struggling, just slow down. Take a day off or just a little break. And then you’ll find that when you do go back to things, you’ll feel more inspired.
