Our living room with a silver chandelier and a canvas print of Dexter looking at a goose in Martin Mere above the fireplace

Review: Updating Our Living Room With Parrot Print Canvases

19th February 2019

As you will be aware, we moved into our first owned property back in August last year and have spent the last six months planning and designing each room to make this family house a home.

We started with the lounge and although it’s still a work in progress, it’s feeling more and more like the space we want it to be every day. When we moved in, there were two pale blue walls, a wall with black and silver wallpaper and one very dark grey wall. We stripped every wall down, primed and painted them with Valspar’s Arctic Ice which made the living space feel much airier and slightly bigger too.

We purchased two new sofas in teal, replacing our old cream three seater and we painted our fireplace teal to match. We got some grey blackout curtains from Ikea and a beautiful silver chandelier which hangs proudly from the ceiling.

The walls, although now beautifully filled in and painted perfectly, felt a little bare, so I was thrilled when Parrot Print got in touch to offer us some canvases to display in our living space.

Who are Parrot Print?

Parrot Print was started by a group of photographers who have a deep technical understanding of images, an eye for the art, and know what it takes to produce beautiful photographic prints on canvas. Based in London, their skilled team uses the latest, state-of-the art digital printing process, and the best-quality materials, to give a stunning canvas print that’s unrivalled anywhere in the UK.

Is it easy to order?

Absolutely! Once you are on the website, you simply upload the photo you want printing onto canvas, select the format- portrait, landscape or square, select the size you require and choose a border- either white, black or folded. If the image you upload is too small, or the quality is a little off, a message will pop up prompting you to choose another image.

Once you’ve got your chosen canvases in your basket, you can check out easily using credit or debit card or PayPal and await delivery which will come the next working day via express 24 (Parcelforce) as long as you place your order before midday. What’s more, delivery is free!

What did we think?

The canvases arrived next day as promised, wrapped very securely meaning damage in transit would be very unlikely. I was absolutely thrilled to bits when I unwrapped each canvas.

We chose three canvases – two landscape canvases sized at 24 x 16 and one larger landscape canvas sized at 36 x 24. The largest one is a photo taken by my childminder which was sent to me via Whatsapp, uploaded onto FlickR and downloaded again onto my computer. I know that sometimes photos lose their quality when they are sent across multiple devices and I was a bit worried that this may show up on such a large canvas, but I needn’t have worried. Parrot Print use outstanding fade resistant pigment inks which really bring the photos to life on the canvas. They also use an Automatic Photo Quality Detection algorithm, which chooses the highest possible image quality available for the print, guaranteeing outstanding printing results.

Our living room suddenly feels so much cosier now we have three gorgeous canvases on our wall of our wonderful little boy Dexter. I’m now desperate to capture some more photos of Felix so that we can show him off on our other wall too!

If you are looking for some stunning canvas prints for your wall, make sure to visit Parrot Print’s website to order.
