My Grandma’s secret recipes for fast breakfasts

Share this post with your friends!

Everyone knows that breakfast is the most important meal, but sometimes it can be hard to find time to make a nutritious, delicious, and filling breakfast before running out the door. If you are a busy person, a food delivery service can provide you with a healthy breakfast. Find the reviews about it here, and it will allow you to save your time cooking a tasty meal. It is excellent when you are in a hurry or need to eat your breakfast before going somewhere. Try these five recipes from my grandma’s recipe book if you’re looking for some new ideas for quick breakfasts that still taste great!

Pancakes

I’m a huge pancake fan. They are pretty healthy, though, so I recommend using whole wheat flour in pancakes if you are craving something sweet. Use fresh fruit to create excellent toppings, or add some peanut butter! You need some essential ingredients that you probably already have at home and less than 10 minutes of prep time.

  • Mix 1 cup of whole wheat flour, two tablespoons of sugar, 1 1⁄2 teaspoons of baking powder, and a pinch of salt in a bowl with water until it forms a thick batter (you may need to adjust your water-to-flour ratio depending on your brand of flour).
  •  Add 1⁄4 teaspoon vanilla extract to get them smelling great too!
  • Now heat a nonstick pan over medium heat and spray lightly with cooking spray.
  • Pour about 1/3 cup of batter into your pan for each pancake, spreading out evenly.

When bubbles start forming around the edges of your pancakes, flip them over carefully – they should be golden brown by now. Cook for another minute or two until done. Serve hot topped with fresh berries and syrup!

Omelette

One of Grandma’s favourite recipes was an omelette. She would start by cracking six to eight eggs into a medium-sized bowl, then whisk them together with 2 cups of milk. (If she wasn’t trying to be healthy, she might add 1/4 cup diced ham.) To cook, she used a nonstick frying pan over medium heat, adding cooking spray if necessary. Once heated through, she poured in her mixture and folded it in half until all cooked through—about 3 minutes total. What makes it so unique?

This recipe is more accessible than most because you don’t have to worry about flipping or cutting the eggs; just pour them in one spot and fold them over when done! It’s also great for large groups, as you can make several at once. Finally, it tastes great no matter what type of milk you use: whole, skim, soy…you name it! You’ve got yourself a tasty meal when served alongside toast, fresh fruit, and orange juice.

Egg in bread

Eggs in a hole or eggs in a basket are fast and easy to make, using ingredients you probably already have. Simply crack an egg into a muffin tin lined with two slices of bread. Bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit until cooked (about 15 minutes), flipping once halfway through. The yolk should still be runny when it’s done; if not, put it back in until the desired doneness is reached. If you want to get crazy with it, add cheese, spinach, or even bacon to each hole before baking. These sandwiches are great for kids because they will eat them just about as quickly as they come out of the oven. And they also work perfectly on a grill! If your family loves eggs as mine does, you might try adding other ingredients such as sausage or ham too.

If you prefer a different breakfast staple, you can try baking eggs in English muffins. To do so, cut a slit down one side of each muffin to create a pocket. Crack an egg into each pocket and bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit until the desired doneness is reached (about 20 minutes). This easy method requires very little prep work but a delicious meal that everyone will love! If your family prefers more protein than carbs in their breakfast, add turkey bacon or sausage before serving. And if they want something sweet, throw some maple syrup on top.

French toast with walnuts

This recipe for French toast, a delicious breakfast option, is super easy to make and can be eaten in about ten minutes. Your family will love it, trust me. Get some bread, egg yolks, milk, sugar (optional), vanilla extract (optional), walnuts, butter (or oil if you’re making an extra-healthy batch), and cinnamon.

  1. Pour all of your ingredients into a bowl (but not before slicing up your bread) or batter-coated pan. Mix well.
  2. Heat your pan or a skillet on medium heat until heated thoroughly. Then lightly coat with oil/ butter/ mixture of both if you’re feeling healthy…
  3. Pour half of your batter onto a heated surface and cook one side until browned. Flip and repeat on another side. If it’s too thick, add more liquid; if it’s too thin, add more flour.

Cook until browned and crispy, then serve warm with maple syrup or honey. Enjoy!

Scrambled eggs with feta cheese, spinach, and herbs

Eggs provide a rich source of protein. Plus, since they take just minutes to cook, you can make scrambled eggs easily in your dorm room. This makes them an ideal option as part of a busy morning routine.

  • Start by melting one tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Crack 2 or 3 eggs into a bowl, and whisk together with 1⁄4 cup milk, salt, and pepper.
  • Pour into the pan when butter is melted.
  • Whisk constantly while cooking until eggs are firm but not dry, about 2 minutes; stir in 1⁄2 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme or chives (or any other herbs).

Top with crumbled feta cheese or any other cheese on hand to add some extra flavor and fat (and more protein!) to your dish. If you don’t like cheese, try adding sliced mushrooms instead.

Conclusion

The best part about these recipes is that they’re super simple. You don’t need to have a degree in chemistry to make them; you just need a taste for deliciousness. Another great thing about most of these recipes is using whatever ingredients you have on hand. It doesn’t matter if you are out of eggs or milk. Just remember: there is no such thing as something that can’t be done; it’s only I haven’t done it yet. Don’t forget to experiment with different herbs, spices, and fruits until your family has declared these your new favourite dishes! Good luck!
