How to Serve Banana to Baby

Bananas are a popular first food for babies due to their soft texture and natural sweetness. Here’s how you can serve bananas to your baby:

Selection: Select a ripe banana with yellow skin and no green tinge. If your bananas are green, they won’t be soft enough for your baby. We experienced a lot of gagging with bananas when starting with our baby led weaning journey!

Preparation: Peel the banana and cut it into small, manageable pieces. Alternatively, you can mash it to a suitable consistency for your baby. Another option is to pop your finger in the centre of the end of the banana, this will make the banana easily split into three perfectly sized pieces for your baby to hold and feed himself from.

Serving: Offer the banana pieces directly to your baby, allowing them to self-feed or mash the pieces further for younger babies.
