Quinoa is one of those super foods that has exploded in popularity over the last few years. Similar to couscous or rice, but packed FULL of health benefits that’ll support your baby’s growth and development. Quinoa is gluten-free, packed full of protein and one of the few foods available that naturally contains ALL nine amino acids. Incredible, right?
Why should you offer quinoa to your baby?
As well as being packed full of protein which is vital for the growth and development of your baby, it also contains:
Fibre – helps baby’s digestion
Magnesium – supports the immune system and keeps bones strong
Vitamin B – supports brain development and helps develop healthy red blood cells
Iron – this vital nutrient helps move oxygen from the lungs to the rest of the body and after the first 4-6 months of life, babies’ natural stores will deplete and they’ll need to find this important nutrient in their diet
Potassium – helps regulate fluids in the body
Calcium – an important nutrient that helps develop healthy teeth and bones
Vitamin E – important for neurodevelopment
