With a new baby on the way, either in a few months time or if you’re about to take a trip to the hospital and bring your little bundle of joy home for the first time, you want your home to be as secure as possible.
You want to know your newborn is going to be safe in their home, and you want to be able to enjoy your time with them as they grow up, without worrying about what could happen both in and outside of your four walls.

Get Down to Floor Level
Your baby isn’t going to be as tall as you for quite a few years yet, and because of that, you need to get down to their level! Get down to a crawling level and look around you – what can you see, in terms of potential dangers? Because your newborn is going to be able to move around as they wish in a few months time, and you’re going to thank yourself for preparing for it!
Socket covers for your outlets could be good, but know the dangers. Then, make sure the wires on your floor are out of the way, or covered up, so no little teeth can chew on them. And you’ll also want to ensure the carpet doesn’t have any runners the baby might pick at.
Make Use of Smart Monitoring
Smart monitoring is something that’s very useful to new parents, especially if they’re having to work at home whilst taking care of a newborn. You’ve still got things to do around the house, and you can’t be in two places at once, can you? And thus, you’re going to need to come up with a solution.

Cover Up The Sharp Corners!
Your house is going to have a lot of sharp corners to it, such as on cabinets and cupboards and tables. Of course, you may have bought a lot of rounded furniture edges, but there’s always going to be a couple that you and your family members may have bumped into already.
So when a newborn is in the house, make sure you’ve covered up or sanded down these sharp corners. You can get clip on plastic edges to ensure your baby can’t knock or bump their head, or get splinters off of the wood when using it to stand or climb.
