When a lot of people think about travelling to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), they automatically think about Dubai first. However, there is plenty more that you can enjoy in this region beyond this highly-visited. In this blog post, we are going to give you a few reasons why you should consider travelling around this region yourself. There is a mix of tradition and modernity that you get here which is unlike many other places in the world. Each of the Emirates has something different to offer, so let’s take a trip through some of them.
Abu Dhabi
The capital and largest state in the country is Abu Dhabi. In fact, this place takes up nearly 90% of the area! One of the most visited places in the whole region is the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, which is widely considered to be one of the most beautiful in the world. If you are looking for a place to stay, the Marriott Hotel Al Forsan is a great option to base yourself. Fans of Formula One will certainly want to see the Yas Viceroy Hotel which is home to the famous racetrack. Unique attractions are being added all the time, and if you visit this place multiple times, you will be amazed by the pace of change.
Dubai
Everyone has heard of Dubai, and while it often doesn’t rank highly on a serious traveller’s wishlist, there are still plenty of attractions which everyone can enjoy. Highest up on the list (literally) is the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa. Dubai is the kind of place which is proud of being the biggest and the best, but there are also plenty of reminders of the city’s traditional past in its many mosques. There’s even plenty to do in Dubai with the kids!
Fujairah
While the first two that we have discussed may be world-renowned, Fujairah doesn’t have quite the same levels of fame. This is a great shame as it arguably has the best location of all the states in the UAE. On one side you will find towering mountains, while the other is home to a seemingly endless stretch of beaches. If you enjoy snorkelling, this is a fantastic destination where you can see plenty of marine life in the crystal clear waters. And you can get here easily as the place is only an hour and a half drive away from Dubai.
Ras Al Khaimah
If you simply don’t enjoy the big city life all that much, this is the ideal Emirate to visit to get away from it all. There are plenty of beautiful beach resorts where you can relax and unwind. Another fascinating place to visit is Jazirat Al-Hamra, which is a town that its residents abandoned as they thought that it was haunted.
So, if you have never really thought about paying a visit to the United Arab Emirates before, hopefully, this article has played a part in convincing you to change your mind.
